About the National Benchmarking
Global Benchmarking Data
IFC Vitae’s benchmarking database is a unique, emerging-market focused dataset that offers insights into employability practices worldwide. Over 150 higher education institutions are included in the database – these are institutions that have either completed a Vitae 360 assessment or participated in other national benchmarking exercises.
Did you know, only 13% of benchmarked higher education institutions track employment outcomes systematically to gain insights on program relevance and career impact? Explore global results on key employability indicators through our Employability Dashboard.
Our experience with National Benchmarking
Regulators in Jordan, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Nigeria and South Africa have worked with IFC to conduct system-level diagnostics and develop roadmaps for improving the career preparedness and relevance of programs nationwide. These national benchmarking exercises usually take 3 to 4 months to complete, and can be rolled out concurrently with IFC’s Digital Maturity in Higher Education Benchmarking. Working closely with government counterparts, the IFC team will:
Select a Sector & Framework
Identify the sample of private and public sector institutions to be included in the benchmarking and agree on the data collection methodology.
Collect & Validate Data
Confidentially collect and validate the data with participating institutions through IFC’s proprietary Employability Benchmarking Tool.
Analyze & Compare Benchmarks
Prepare individual institutional reports for each participating institution comparing their results against national averages and global benchmarks.
Recommend Improvements
Share a regulator diagnostic report highlighting ecosystem strengths and potential areas for improvement.
Present Key Findings
Present key findings and best practices at an employability roundtable for government and higher education stakeholders.
