Vitae tackles one of the biggest challenges in job creation: ensuring graduates are equipped with the right skills.

Tertiary enrollments are rising worldwide, yet more than 30% of graduates remain unemployed. Vitae helps tertiary education institutions support students to harness the promise of higher education.

Using a data-driven approach, Vitae works directly with colleges and universities to align their programs with labor market needs, to support students to build career skills, and to connect with employers.

This model is scalable and proven: 220 tertiary institutions in emerging markets have partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) through Vitae’s employability advisory. Our advisory program shares the collective experience of the IFC and its senior education specialists, who have appraised education institutions across the world.

Vitae has provided more than 550,000 students with access to better education in Africa, Latin America and Middle East, as per the World Bank Group Scorecard. Students, graduates and their employers are the ultimate beneficiaries of Vitae.

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the largest multilateral investor in private education in emerging markets. IFC provides investments and advisory services to support higher education. Since 2006, IFC has invested over $2.3 billion and has a current portfolio of $663 million, mainly in tertiary education. Since 2019, IFC has supported institutions across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean through Vitae advisory services.
